dan's business

Name: Craugh

Location: Abandoned building (warehouse) in the Lincoln Park orrrrr Wicker Park area in Chicago

Purpose: Dance Club/Nightclub .... A classy 80's hang-out hotspot. Everyone is welcome as long as they are respectable, not creepy and believe in having a great, responsible time.

Cross Connection: While being a drawn out sound of the actual word "cross," I'm using a variety of definitions of the word and incorporating them with what "Craugh" is all about.

1.) "To be situated across from."
2.) "To meet and pass along the way."
3.) "To meet especially by chance. (to cross paths)"

All of these definitions allow for the visitor of Craugh to meet and interact with other people- friends, co-workers, their Starbucks barista.... whatever. The goal is to relax, dance and have an awesome time. These definitions can also go along with the idea of beverages that may be served at Craugh.... crossing/mixing different ingredients with each other..... that kind of thing.

In coming up with the actual name of my club, as mentioned earlier I used the drawn out sound from "croooooo-ss" and spelled it "craugh." The "augh" is pronounced like "cavanAUGH." When I looked up what "craugh" (this one obviously supposed to rhyme with "laugh") meant on Urban Dictionary (haha) I found:
"A rare combination of crying and laughing touched off by a hilarious joke or humorous situation."

I felt as though this worked well because at my club, I want people to let loose and DANCE.... to the 80's (and other decades)!!!
