Digital Rough "Evita"

Hey guys,

here's my digital rough for my poster for the musical Evita. I decided to go with the one where Evita faces the crowd. I think that connects her stronger to it and gives the viewer the feeling to experience the situation out of her perspective.

the picture of the woman is just a substitute and of course the raised arms are missing. i am going to do that picture I need over the weekend. i am not sure if i will let it be a plain photograph or if i will apply a nice effect - probably.

The fonttype I used for Evita is Bernard MT Condensed Bold. The information is in simple Arial - but i will probably change that. i am looking for a sanserif-typeface that fits better.

i want to keep the color-scheme of gold and turquoise but i will experiment around a little bit more. also the black of Evita will not really stay, i think.

have a good weekend!

This looks really great! I still like the other font better tho. If you want to add blue, maybe make that bar at the bottom blue. And I agree with changing the font on the bottom bar. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Hey Eva!

I think your digital rough has is great so far! I think once you get the image of Evita you want to use its going to work out well, I think the typeface you've chosen for "Evita" is working really well too, its pretty strong, it might work out better in a different color though. Good job so far!

I like it a lot. I think you could make it more colorful. The sun part could be more saturated, which would contrast with the black and white. The "Evita" font is great, but I think the other font you used looks too wide. I'd pick a narrower font.

Looking good, Eva. I'm anxious to see how you end up treating the photograph. I'd consider making the rising sun image a little bit more subtle and integrated into the image of the crowd. Not necessarily an overlay…but not quite so stark of contrast. It ends up creating a sense of separation between her and her crowd. Are you still going to photoshop in some Evita signs in the crowd?

Have you found a new supporting typeface yet? I think san serif could be good…but I'd agree, I don't think Arial is the right one for the job. Consider working a little hierarchy into that type through weight changes.
