For this first sketch, I was thinking of making a human woman
sort morphing into... or out of a robot form. The woman would be Marina
and I would try to either make it look collage-like or have a blur in between them... still not sure. My song, "I am Not a Robot" by Marina and the Diamonds is about a woman and her current relationship- how it's better to show and actually feel emotions rather than hide who you really are. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to handwrite the words or use the typeface that is used on all Marina's single EPs.
(This is what it looks like... top left corner: http://www.marinaandthediamonds.com/news.htm) The texture in the
background is a tulle fabric. I'm still trying to decide what color it will be.
In the various spots that are circled darker with a cross inside
are places I would place a rhinestone.

In this second sketch, I have the basic robot shape, but instead of having the woman
morph into it... I thought to somewhat collage a woman's (Marina's) face together. (I really liked my screen printed self- portrait idea so I wanted to explore another way to incorporate that theme/style.) The background and type are all the same as the first sketch..... just the central image is different. I'm also considering how this would work as a screen print... with the images as halftones... etc.
Here's my song... since I changed it from the one I played in class:

The human transitioning into a robot is a pretty great idea, I can see you making this work out well. You should try a Stepford Wives kinda thing.
I like the human/robot thing too. I think it would be better if the separation was more defined, like it looked like the robot metal was on top of or in the skin, not some kind of gradient or something. So I'd say collage over blur.
