The your second idea seems like it would really work well. You should make the doll more grotesque though with a lot of stitches or maybe a patch or something.
max i am so torn! i really like both of these, but im going to say i like the second sketch of the doll better. it seems more unique and i kind of get a creepy vibe from it.... which is awesome haha. and i also agree with todd and kevin that adding more stitching and/or a general dirtiness would make it superb!

I like the second idea a lot. I also agree that adding to the doll and making it appear more beat up would be cool to see.
