So here is my digital rough. I plan on creating the planets myself. Zach Hobbs was an inspiration for the rocket made of words and I think it works out well. I am not sure how well the typeface is working out, so I plan on changing that. Happy Friday everyone :)

hi todd,
i think this looks super cute with the puppy. i also like the starry space background.
since you are making the planets yourself, i was thinking that it might look pretty sweet if you were to incorporate the venue and date into the planet designs. maybe they could be the swirls/craters/other planet-y feature. might be interesting to see what you could come up with, ya know?
OR
maybeeeeee you could angle the rocket to the left more and make it larger, and make the leash/cord thing that the puppys hooked to longer and you could trail text on that??
hope that helps, have a good weekend!
Are you planning on leaving your rocket hand done with the pencil lines? Or are you going to make it in illustrator or something? I ask because I feel like your lines should match everywhere on your poster. The dog has these clean lines and the rocket has this sort of gray pencil look. Maybe make them a bit darker or make the shapes in illustrator with no stroke or with a light stroke.
I like your layout, but you might want to fill in or better use that open space in the top left corner of your poster. Also, drawing the planets yourself would look really cool. I'd also move the text at the bottom to somewhere a bit more readable--maybe along the curve of the planet. Or hand done also like the rocket font. Maybe you could put it on a dog bone floating in space with the dog?
i like the star space background also, and agree that you should angle the rocket to the left. Also think that you should rearrange the text you have on the bottom left and to a more visible color.
what a cute puppy!!! haha! still i think your own dog with a glassbowl on would be so cool. haha!
i can see were you are heading to and i really think it is a great idea to make the rocket out of the big header text. i would even make it bigger though and angle it a bit more.
i am curious how it will look like in the end when you are done with the planets. are you going to draw them or do it sort of a collage (like put an effect on actual pictures). the nasa website has a lot of that stuff and you can actually use the pictures because it is a governmental side! :)
i think it would look cool if you mix some effects, so not everything is in the same style as the puppy. maybe make the rocket look like it is actually red metal?
Todd-
Make the dog much bigger, the rocket bigger, and the planets smaller and more varied in size. Right now, they are competing too much with the more interesting visual elements (space dog?!). The planets should just be there to remind you this dog is actually in space. Really think through your composition. You have the right ingredients…you just need to remix them and make them all work together. Be intentional about your aesthetics—either mix them up effectively, or make them match. And make sure any images you incorporate are high res. If that starry background looks that pixelated and artifacted at this size, imagine how it will look full-size!
