dan`s digital roughs

(The circles here form a dancing human.)

(This one is unique in the fact that it doesn't have a set typeface.
Also, the oval connects to the "h" forming a note that refers back to music.)

My business is a dance club/nightclub called "Craugh."
It's primarily an 80's themed club, with a modern twist.

For the logo, I want it to be clear and modern, yet still convey an aspect of fun/playfulness.
With the various logo options I've created so far, I am trying to figure out how to incorporate the
modern element and the retro element. I used a circle or a combo of circles in the various
options because it represents a feeling of unity and mobility. To me this is the perfect fit
for a place where people gather to dance. I have used black and white more so for the retro feel but also to give a chic vibe. The other combo is black and purple. I was trying to draw from the bright colors from the 80's.

hey danielle!

good job so far! all your logos are pretty different. i agree, that the thumbs with the circles were the best.

the second and last draft appeal most to me. i really think you should incorporate purple to enhance that 80's feel and not stay just b/w.

i like the font in the last one better, because the g has some nice swings in it. i think thats works better as a reference to the 80s as the very plain one in the first and second draft.

i would also consider to combine circles and font more. maybe let the c of craugh be in one?

see you soon,

Danielle,

All these designs look really cool. The person waving their arms is great because it also looks sort of like a martini glass, so I imagine a fun "girls-night-out" dance bar, though I still think it needs some tweaks/smoothing out. Incorporating color is definitely a good idea, otherwise it looks kind of blob-ish. I do really like the h-note, but people may also think its like a record store or music equipment or something. I think these are all off to a great start!

i like your human dancing logo one the most and also like the non set typeface logo you have in black and white type also. i think the human dancing logo is better since it is a dance club and works with your company idea.

Hey Danielle! I am a huge fan of your first and second digital roughs. I think the second one would be perfect if you reverse the colors like the first one though!
