rickardsj_digital roughs_project 4

So my colors are black and a blue-gray color (I'm hoping to have it printed on glossy so it has a nice shine to it). The "M" would be alone, probably not have the company name underneath it, I just wanted to see how it would look if it did. The other type would be the parfum/cologne name. The men's line would be opposite the women's line (I haven't decided which will be the more prominent color for the genders yet tho).

Hey Jackie,

Im so glad I get to comment on yours! I think the top design is a little more effeminate, maybe because the lettering is more rounded. The bottom two look spot on, though, and the M is much more sleek and sexy in a more gender-neutral way. I could see you selling both perfumes as like some kind of naughty wedding present, but it would also appeal to singles seperately since "midnight" evokes a feeling of romance and danger, perfect for a night out on the town.
I think the colors might be a little too subdued, but a glossy print might help with that too (it always looks a little different on the computer) but you might be able to try something a little more saturated(?possible?). Are you planning on differentiating the boy/girl lines in any way besides color? If not then they should totally be a his/hers!

Oops, I also wanted to show you the link to the perfume I was talking about in class. The design is kind of whatever but I thought the description was hilarious

hey jackie-

i loveeeee the bottom two designs. i think it looks very classy and modern and while it seems directed towards a more youthful generation, theres nothing stopping anyone past that generation line from buying it..... which is pretty cool.

i do like your current colors, how they are dark and mysterious but i agree with veronica on the colors possibly being a little too subdued. maybe if it were more of a navy blue and silver combo? idk if youve tried that already?

niceeeeee job so far!!
see you on tuesday!!!

Hey Jackie,
I like the script font you have for Monsieur Jacques, it contrasts the sans-serif font nicely. I also think the colors go well with the Midnight theme. However, I feel like both logos seem to be more masculine because of the colors. I’m sure this will be altered depending on how you design the packaging, but I would really consider ways you can connect the brand while still letting the consumer know which one is for women and which is for men. Lookin’ good!

These look great. Awesome colors and font choices. I really like the script font you chose for this (top left) it's very readable and it fits with your logomark. For the mark, I prefer the bottom. One thing I strongly suggest is making the ends taper, especially on the bottom right part of the mark because it looks more natural and implies that someone wrote it for real. I think it would also bring both the mark and the logotype to a point that could draw the eye very nicely

I also think the dark one should be female just because it would imply a dark and mysterious woman, which I think would be cool. Just my personal opinion on that though

The bottom-left mark is definitely the strongest. I'd consider tapering or slanting the terminals on the mark, though—it will feel much more natural that way. I'd also consider using the sans serif as your logotype. The contrast of styles seems to accentuate the scriptiness of the "M" more…
