finally i decided to go with BIOCROSS, the company that focuses on crossbreeding plants.
I drafted a few different logomarks i could possibly use, developed two color-schemes and am still deciding between INSIGNIA LT STD ROMAN or BANK GOTHIC MEDIUM as the font for the logotype.
Color-Schemes:

I worked with transparancy and overlaying which allows me to create a third color out of two. This is also a nice reference to what crossbreeding is - to create something new through combination.
The first color-sample is more subtle than the second and stays more in the range of different greens.
Fonts:

The first example is Bank Gothic Medium. I choose it because of its scientific, modern look.
Example No. 2 is Insignia LT Std Roman. It has a very clean and modern look and little crosses in the B and R which works well with the name the letters spell out.
Logomarks:
I played around a lot with my few best logo-ideas and created multiple variations and also combinations. It would be of great help if you could kinda vote for what you think works best. my main thoughts were to display the combination of two things.

Possible combinations of logomarks with logotype:
Here i mainly focused on the placement options of the circular logomark together with the logotype and tried to figure out which font/colors work best in the different combinations. of course more combinations with other logomarks are possible, too but i want to figure out first which placement of mark and type works best together.

Hey Eva,
I think you have some really good ideas, and some really clever combinations going for you right now. I think the Bank Gothic has a much more scientific feel to it, but I personally feel that the Insignia type works a lot better with the different logo marks you’ve created. In terms of the individual marks, I think Number 9 is my favorite. The contrast you used with the colors makes it more pronounced, and the “cross” connection is very apparent. I also like the way you can incorporate the crossing with the “o” in the company name. In terms of your combinations, I think 19, 17, 13 are all looking really sharp. I also really like 11, but I think it would be better with just the “B” and no “iocross”. The “B” could be integrated into the logo mark, more than as being a part of the logotype. Really good start!
Wow, you have a lot of great ideas! I like 8 and 18. Only for 18 I think the logo separates biocross in a weird spot. The colors are great too. I also agree with Gil about the 11 one too. I also prefer the Gothic font.
